Hi All,
This is a kit I pulled together to upgrade my CR140 to a CR170. I never got around to putting the kit into the car and I plan on selling the car soon so this kit has lost it's purpose. This is a huge bump from August but I would love to get this out of my closet. I'm going to update this post a little and with photos.
The project is listed in detail on this forum at this link.
Included are:
CR170 Turbo: 03L 253 019 M
Turbo Inlet Pipe: 3C0 129 654 AJ
Turbo inlet to turbo elbow: 3C0 129 635
Spacer for EGT Probe
Also Various OEM seals and nuts.

I purchased the turbo from a Polish wrecking yard through eBay. The turbo came out of a Tiguan with 17,XXXX km. The turbines have no excessive play. The oil drain tube has a small dent in the very end lip of the tube which was there when I received the turbo. I had planned to just install it as is because I didn't feel it would harm anything. You could straighten it out or use the oil drain tube from your CR140 turbo--they are the same part.
I have most of the parts you need to install the turbo with the exception of new exhaust manifold nuts and any other nuts/bolts. I did purchase these, but for some reason they are not with the rest of the turbo parts!
The smaller gaskets are for the EGR valve and the low-pressure EGR filter. My plan was to block off the EGR at the intake, at the exhaust on the turbo manifold, and at the low-pressure filter to bypass the EGR system without getting a new down-pipe and exhaust. The exhaust manifold gasket is also included as well as the stainless steel spacer needed to get the EGT probe to properly fit into the CR170 exhaust manifold.
It will include the air intake flex hose that is required as well as the intake flex hose to turbo-intake adapter. Both of these parts are different than the CR140 turbo. The flex hose was also sourced from Eastern Europe through eBay.
I'd rather sell this off to a tdiclub member than to throw it up on eBay. I'm looking for$750 $650 OBO plus shipping. The box is pretty heavy--around 25-30lbs. Shipping will be the actual shipping cost from me, 84108, to you.
edit: Price change, no longer have a JSW.
