Rescue a drowned key fob

D’oh. I dropped my 2012 JSW key fob in the lake while paddle boarding. After 20 minutes I retrieved it, then covered it with rice and replaced the battery. But it’s acting wonky. I read the owner’s manual but it didn’t have any specific advice. Anybody have any recommendations? Thanks. Bertman
