Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I've been on here.
I have a 1998 Jetta TDI manual K2 edition. This winter when it was really cold I drove the car and heard a scraping noise which was sort of "rotational"; i.e. it increased as I increased speed and vice versa. Directly after that, I noticed that both the speedometer and odometer no longer work (i.e. dead.. - no bouncing of needle etc. as I've seen on some other posts). I should add that the tachometer does work fine.
Any suggestions here? The vehicle is good operating condition. I've maintained it well but is beginning to show its age with some body rust. I put new brakes and tires on a year ago but not sure I want to keep putting money into it. Time to part ways with it before tackling this issue?
