Probably because someone would post something and then realize they'd get into trouble and they would edit it.
The only reason you'll ever see me editing any of my posts is for spelling errors.
{edit} just testing the edit function. It seems to be working for me.

Hey troy.. You cant edit posts in a LOCKED THREAD!
It was locked! why do you need to edit it? I know this is what you were trying to do, because edit isnt turned off, unless they blocked just you from editing, which I doubt is possible with UBB.
