Oxidation on chrome trim

Hello everyone,

I have an 06 TDI Jetta and the chrome trim around the door windows looks to be oxidizing. It appears cloudy. Does anyone have any tips on how to clean this up? Thx.

rubbing compound

I would try a good car wax and a little elbow grease first. I know some cars use a chrome coated plastic and the rubbing compound would expose the normally black platic underneath.

I am not sure if VW uses a plastic or real metal plated chrome.

A little meguiar's Cleaner Wax worked great for me
