I have a 2014 Passat and I am going to retrofit the MIB 2 radio. I know about the component protection that’s been removed and patched. Anyways I was told that my 2014 Passat has a can bus gateway that is one generation older than the current canbus in the Passat. Therefore, I am told I need to install canbus gateway part # 7no907530AN. The one currently in my car is 7no907530AM.
I was told canbus gateway needs to be changed because it can cause lag and radio communication issues if it is not changed.
Where is the canbus gateway located in my 2014 Passat SEL?
What coding is needed?
Do I just copy over the coding and settings in my current canbus gateway to the new one?
Where do I go in vagcom to do this?
Step by step instructions on this would be greatly appreciated. Also pictures would be extremely helpful as well.
