- 2001 Jetta TDI GLS
- 230,400 miles
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Silver with gray leather interior
- Never been in an accident
A lot of work was done at 160k miles, including an entire engine rebuild, new clutch, and new timing belt. All service was performed by TDIClub-approved specialist Marty Bergel in Howell, MI.
Some issues worth noting:
- Hard time starting below around 15° (common)
- Hasn't happened in about 6 months but I've had issues with the transmission temporarily getting stuck in reverse. Re-engaging the clutch gets it out. I emailed Marty and he said that the fix could be as easy as an adjustment of the shift cables.
- Driver door very occasionally gets jammed and can't open from the outside
- Leak in wiper fluid tank
- Battery is currently dead. Last time I used it (6/30) I needed a jump to get home but it otherwise drove fine.
