Newbie Question - TDI Mechanic in Eastern MA

I just bought a 2002 Beetle GLS TDI with 69k miles on it.

I'm looking around for the best mechanic. I've looked at http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=130044 and a few other threads, most of the recommendations I've seen are for MrChill, JollyGreenGiant, and Herm, are there any others in the area that I've missed?

I currently commute from Sharon, MA to North Reading, MA (42 miles one way). I built a

You can't do better than any of those three. All are immensely experienced and will do the job right.

No, not in this area.

Nobody good in this area....nope...no one.........except for MrChill, he's good. But other than that, nobody...only him........well there's Jon (JGG), he's good...But other than him and Chill there isn't anybody....'cept Herm, he's completed more timing belts than we can count....but other than those, we really don't have anyone....well, there's that other guy in CT......

Yeah, but I heard that guy in CT can't even put a skid plate on without hitting himself in the head with a ratchet. Twice.

Plus he'll probably get confused and throw your car in a deep fryer.

Have you checked out Brian's Garage in Needham?
He is a VW/Audi specialist. I had him do a timing belt on my 01 Passat.
His work is immaculate. Just an alternative. Many Boston people go to him.

The best guy without question is Herm !!! I have been to a few and will only let him work on my car. 1.5 hr drive is worth the professional work and piece of mind of a good quality job and he is - cheeeeeeepppppp compared to some others. Check him out at Hermtdi@yahoo.com
