WTB: 1983-1989 Turbo diesel VW for swap...

Attempting to salvage a diesel engine for my wife's Geo Tracker. The closer to Florida the better. The condition of the car itself is not important, but the engine must be in good shape. Thanks.

you want to make it a TDI Tracker??? How hard would that be to accompolish? What other cas can that be done to?

You will note the request is for IDI, I do have a friend currently doing a TDI swap. Most popular swap is into Samurai, for great off-road torque, commercial kits available

look in local / regional nickel-ads. I recently got a TD IDI engine and tranny from Orlando area $400(shipped to PNW) Atlanta seems to be a good, cheap market for IDI's and TDI's

but I want a 35MPG 1/2ton 4x4 pickup(something I won't get smooshed in, my caddy is too small, my dump truck too big)

I am going to have an 86 turbo diesel eng from a jetta for sale soon Was just rebuilt and runs great but just took it out of the vw truck that I am restoring and then will be installing a different eng so I will be selling the 86 eng and 5 sp trans.
