The time has come...

For sale is my 99.5 Jetta GLS TDI 5 speed. Odometer is just under 313,000 miles.

Some highlights:
-Power windows, locks (working!)
-New timing belt, water pump, oil pump chain & tensioner, front main seal, cam seal, lifters and clutch at 280k. Clutch is a TDI friction w/ VR6 pressure plate, so there's no rattle
-2000 shift linkage
-16" BBS RX1 wheels. These are single piece, unlike the multipart 1.8t wheels that corrode and leak. Recent Bridgestone tires
-GLX black, heated, power, memory leather seats. (the car originally had gray cloth) Recent new foam in driver's seat bottom. Leather 3 spoke steering wheel
-Blue tint aspherical mirrors, with memory
-Rain sensing wipers, W8 interior light, 2003 (large) glove box. TT pedal caps & dead pedal
-MFA
-Monsoon audio system (also from the GLX)
-Recent windshield. While glass was out a small rust spot in the windshield frame was corrected
-OldNavy CCV
-HID Projector bi-xenon lights
-Neuspeed SoftSport lowering springs w/ Koni Red adjustable dampers.
-TT front control arm bushings, recent rear beam bushings.
-VR6 front brakes w/ solid bushings
-ASR
-RocketChip 2/3 switchable
-Recent NGK glow plugs
-11mm injection pump w/ ~30k miles since rebuild, ~60k mile sprint 520s
-BW KP39 turbo installed at 280k

From new this car has gotten 5w40 oil, changed every 10k miles. With Mobil1 TDT, it uses about 1.5 quarts over 10k miles.

Some not-so-positives:
-Both front fenders showing rust on the edges
-Front bumper cover tabs broken, could use replacement
-AC Compressor is dead. A new in box one is included with the car
-Heater vents starting to blow foam. A complete Climatronic system is included with the car
-Rust bubble starting on passenger rear door
-Memory on passenger side mirror doesn't work
-New headliner I installed 2 years ago is already starting to fall.......

Considering all the upgrades and maintenance, we are going to ask $4,400. We're open to offers.

This is the car that got me into TDIClub in the first place. I was with my father when he picked it up off the lot in 1999. I'm very sad to see it go, but I'd rather someone enjoy it than it sit, unused in our driveway.

Thanks for looking!

-Jason

Bump for a great car from a great seller. Don't be afraid everyone, this car has been VERY well maintained and all of the wear items have been replaced, even the seats! If I was in the market, I would be scooping this up! I actually kinda bummed because I truly feel this is a great car.

Bump! Price drop to $4,100. If there isn't any interest at this price, we'll move on to other sales platforms like Craigslist and Autotrader.

Thanks for looking. :)

Jason, Thank you for selling us the car. We changed all the filters and oil change too. Got the couple frozen rivnuts removed and replaced, then mounted the panzer skid plate I had kicking around. Took us a solid 4 hours with both of us working diligently to get all that done. Brother drove home and had the "TDI Smile" the whole way. Put stock headlights back in until we can get the harnesses for the retrofits.

Thank you again, it will be eating miles starting tomorrow!
