Sorry for the stupid question, but I couldn't seem to find the answer by searching. Where is the ECU located on my '98 Jetta? Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the wipers. There are "Tabs" at the base of the windshield that also need to be removed. Then you could remove the big piece of plastic, I think it is called the Air Pelinium.

I was able to get to the ecu (actually put in a cabin filter) into an A3 VR6. No need to remove the wipers. Just a couple of strange "screw clips" that are plastic and you unscrew a tad then pop out, then carefully remove the sealing gasket around the edge. The plastic just wiggled right out. I know that's all that's needed on my B4 as well.
