Curious what others are paying...

Car: 2011 jetta tdi
Insurance: farm bureau
Amount: 100/300 liability/comp/collision/uninsured motorist
Price: $180/month
Location: Louisiana

Mine just renewed and jumped up about 40 dollars... Have gotten two other quotes this week. Both were around 250/ month for the above coverage. I've never had to pay this much for insurance on a vehicle. Just wandering what others are paying, if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks.

Not sure on just the car, but it's not very much. Full coverage on a 98 Dodge Ram 2500, 98 Jeep, 05 Jetta, 06 flatbed trailer and my homeowners is $180/month. I know the truck is the more expensive one to insure, diesel 4x4 I guess costs more to fix?

Same coverage with MetLife, 2001 Jetta, $50 a month. I do get a discount with Metlife through work though.

I've got pretty beefy coverage and I'm $88/month. 0/0 deductible too.

After seeing these prices posted, I said.....WOW!

My '03 Jetta - 100/300 + collision ($500 ded) + comprehensive (fire, theft. & DEER DAMAGE) ($50 ded) is $387 a year - $32.25 per month....

My wifes '99 NB - all the same except no collision - $163 a year - $13.58 per month.

You guys make me feel pretty lucky!

Wow. Even if I include my umbrella and my wife's fully loaded new Malibu with replacement coverage on both I'm 40 a month less. That's with my wife having a claim that's still included in the rating. I do have all my insurance in one place. Yes, the Malibu was in response to my new car. Sheese.

I pay under $500 per year for full coverage and $500 deductible on my Jetta. I have two other vehicles with liability only (about $400 per year for both) and my house (over $1,000 per year in a Class 10 zone, under insured at $150,000/$40,000).......All with Farm Bureau! I've been with FB going on 42 years........three claims: 1 windshield, and two front bumpers all on the Jetta! The wife is listed on all the vehicles!

My RV is thru Progressive $416 per year full coverage, $500.00 deductible!

Insurance varies widely by location, company, driving history, coverage, vehicle, age, and affinity discounts. Shop around for the best price and be sure to ask about affinity discounts.

I pay Farmers $807 per year for my 2009 TDI and 2008 Rogue. Coverage is $$500k BI each person / $500k BI each occurrence / $100k PD, $1000 deductible, and $250/$500k under/uninsured. If the TDI was my only vehicle, the total cost would be about $474 per year.

agree with Plus3Golfer...

IT all depends on who where when how what ..... ;-)

Call 10 different carriers, and you get 10 different quotes.

Yup, insurance in AK is very expensive. When I lived in Idaho insurance was almost 1/2 of what I pay now.

This is a loaded question. Car insurance pricing depends on the car, the city/state where you live, the coverage you buy, how much you drive, the number and ages of drivers, driving history, and even the credit score of the owner/driver. Add to this how many other kinds of insurance you have with the same company (Homeowner's/renter's insurance, life insurance, multi car discounts, etc). It's hard to find two drivers in the same city with the same car that pay the same amount for insurance. The driver's age and driving history are probably the biggest factors, but all the other factors count too.

Have Fun!

Heck, in MI we have $142 a year per vehicle tacked onto our insurance to cover catostrophic claims. 2 cars and 3 motorcycles = $710 a year that goes right to the state. ARGH!!!
