215/55R16 Fit on 2004 Beetle??

Does anyone know if 215/55R16 Tires will fit on vw 5x100 16" OEM steelies that will go on a 2004 Beetle Convertible 1.8T

looking for quick yes or no answers from people that have run them.

(i know 205s are OE spec and their better for grip, alignments etc etc...)

update:
got a set of GTI BBS 16" x6.5 mk4 5x100 alloys and fit the 215/55R16 tires on them.

put it on the beetle and it fit perfectly fine with no rubbing or any issues.
