One more update, I've had an engine light for some time due to a bad temp probe so I ignored it. Recently used my Jetta good faith dealership credit to get a new probe $300. And discovered I had an additional code P0101 (also have a tread on this issue). Fault was due to a blown air hose from passenger intercooler. With this hose replaced and all codes cleared (no more engine light) the black cloud coal rolling on hard acceleration is almost gone completely. I have no idea how long I've been blowing boost out of this split hose but glad to have it fixed!
