Car problem

Hi there, I have a 2010 Audi A3 170hp quattro that is currently not running properly. Under acceleration it makes a whooshing sound and when at idle it sounds like it is coughing/breathing loudly. When I put my foot down wen the revs are below 2000 it take ages for the turbo to spool up and feel that it is considerably under powered When it does finally get going.
Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be?
Slightly nervous as I have to drive it 150 miles tonight and don't want the car to explode on me!

Sounds rather like a boost leak...

Do you have an obd scan tool? maybe you can get one to scan your can to find the trouble code and then find out the problem.
