Have to replace my radiator support and radiator. How do I unplug the front crash sensor, 1K0 959 651? AKA G283

Not sure other than I’d make sure your battery is disconnected since that is an airbag sensor.

You don't give a lot of details. Has the car been in an accident?
If so, and if the airbags did not deploy, leave them unplugged and just remove the two bolts that keep them attached to the car.

There are just too many to list....
They use a goofy connector (Nissan loves these) where you need to push the release up with a pick, towards the sensor, then it releases and slides off.

Pretty simple once you realize how they work, and there is plenty of room there.

relumalutan,

Details - the car was not in an accident. My daughter hit to many curbs in parking lots, I am replacing the radiator support. The job is done, I unbolted the crash sensors from the rad support. The wasn't a lot of room to unbolt them, that's why I was asking about disconnecting them.

Oilhammer,

Thanks for the details on how to unplug from crash sensor.

Project is now complete.
