Hey all, I have a problem that I can't solve. It seems that no matter what I try to do, tighten to cap more, loosen the cap a little, new filter, new O rings, new filter and O rings AGAIN!!!. I can't stop the leak from between the cap and housing. After each time I try, it seems the leak will be in a different spot. I marked the cap, removed and replaced cap, leak in totally different area.:mad::mad::mad:

Has anyone been through this before??

Thanks

Are you putting the O-ring in the correct spot? It MUST be in the groove that is in the cap. When you tighten, the o-ring should go between the metal filter housing and plastic filter cap.

It is in the correct place. I have owned this car since new and now it has 270,000 miles and I have done almost all of the oil changes myself. I have never had this happen and it started about 5000 miles after an oil change if that helps.

Thanks
