Occasional Engine Vibration at Idle

Occasionally when I come to a stop and idle...the engine will vibrate like it is out of balance. This has been occurring for about 6 months. I don't think it happens until the car is warmed up and most of the time it doesn't happen...but when it does it is pronounced - and maybe getting worse.

I have never replaced the clutch so suspect the DMF has begun it's slow death roll? It does have original injectors, etc. The car does not exhibit any other symptoms...no other strange noises from the engine/tranny. I did replace the dogbone mount lately - but it vibrated before and after the vibration.

Am I risking a catastrophic DMF failure or should I check some other area?

Thanks!!

Does the needle on the tach bounce (are the RPMs changing)?
Does it make a difference whether you put it in neutral and let the clutch out?
Any chance you replaced a fuel filter recently (and didn't fully bleed the injector lines)?

If you installed harder dogbone mount bushings, it will probably vibrate the daylights out of you (Poly bushing were hardly tolerable on my 1.8T at idle).

1. The vibration is a fairly high frequency...I tried to "count" the pulses/sec. but it is on the dozens/sec. The tach does not bounce
2. Same with clutch in or out...no difference
3. Fuel filter I replace about 6000 miles ago...
4. Dogbones were OE rubber from ID Parts methinks?
