I've got a 99 Golf 2-door with 270,000 miles
The Bad:
Engine is locked up
270,000 miles
5th Gear is Stripped
Trans as a whole is sloppy
The Good:
Interior is in pretty good shape
All engine accessories such as A/C Compressor, turbo, water pump is good
Less than 5,000 miles on a brand new alternator
Timing Belt and pulleys replaced at 230,000 miles
2-Door
Manual Trans
The Price $900
Pics below, but long story short is I bought it as a commuter with 200,000 miles on it, performed maintenance as needed since then. Engine locked up for unknown reasons last Wednesday, has plenty of oil and gave no detectable warning signs. I don't have the time or desire to repair and am looking at purchasing something newer with less miles (open to sub 100,000 mile trades, plus cash on my part of course). Sale Price is $1,000 OBO, bring a trailer.
