Blew? Blew how? If you didn't catch it in time you might have a bent rod etc and the turbo is the least of your problems.

Heard a slight grind like a bad fan bearing when instsrtd the car. Went away. On my way to work had slight intermittent loss of power. Smoke started pouring out of the hood while idling at a traffic light.

Yeah, that's... That's not good.
I'm actually going to be working at Caddell's in July, after the 10th. If you don't have it sorted out by then I might be able to help. I've been through a head replacement and a couple TB jobs, have VCDS.
