I have a 2004 Passat (WVWPE63B84E287306) in Louisville KY. I bought the car (an automatic) in 2014 with 152K on it. It now has 217K on it and it wouldn't shift properly one day on the way to work (trouble around 3rd gear).
I'm told the repairs needed are much worth than the car's value.
I was going to scrap the vehicle (I have no mechanical inclinations). It starts fine, A/C is still cold, stereo work etc. I would be glad to sell it to someone who might have a use for it as a project or parts car. It's worth $310 to the junk man.
