Need the belt replaced on my sons TDi. What manufacturers parts are best ? VW OEM or are there better alternatives ? One mechanic mentioned Borax parts. Thanks in advance

Thanks !! It is a 2001 VW Jetta with 110,000 miles. Not sure if the belt has ever been changed so I want to get it done ASAP. I have found a recommended mechanic and he is the one who said he uses the Borax kit.

If you found a recommended guru off of the TDIClub trusted list, take the car to them and let them put on it what parts they would put in their personal car.

My favorite saying is "You don't go to the butcher and tell him how to cut meat do ya?"
