Oh yeah, it flys for a stock engine, boost is only 2.7bar (turbo will do 3 bar) and on the non nos tune it did not smoke bad at all, still making 340+hp 450lbs+.

Edited because people in general talk crap!

The rod bearing says "std" (as far as i can see)
So if the crank was ground -0,25 i think you have the answer on the failure right there :)

Looking at the crank it was the mains that were ground, sorry if that was not clear before, i did not build it so dont quote me! haha! the engine turned over real nice before we ran it as we fitted the head and TB setup, id the bearings were wrong i'm sure it would be tight before.

Ok
Well if the bearings were std and the crank was -0,25 it will turn over VERY Nice by hand Ha-Ha
Not so much when running though, clearance would be a "tad" on the high side :)

Hi ryan looks like bearings where to tight and not good oil flow realy strange the bearings friction welding to crank shaft see blue at rods big end a lot of heat.

2.7 bar boost till what rpm can hold a stock gtb2260 that boost ?

Yes we think it was too tight, our fresh engine has been fine for 250miles now.

a stock 2260 wont be happy for long with that boost at any RPM usually!

Yes. 2.3-2.4 bar max. Otherwise it could develop split personalities like mine did

Congrats Ryan. Looks like Gulu is no longer #1 fastest TDI!

I imagine you will be in the high 9s with a bigger snail :D

Thanks Louis,It was the high pressure turbo gta4082knlv.EGT's were too high while the turbo's were not spooled with 100% full fuel.I made a slow pass and ignored the maxed out pyro 2400*F .The vane assembly was cooked pretty good and the turbine wheel was missing some exducer. The turbine housing was torched out some as well.

Only just realised I forgot to add my fastest run on here from last year:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2hIT8C5HSg

This is not the fastest but a decent Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbkQDi57nig

Same Day, another cameraman (better one)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUOuSRq2F3M

It all went downhill from then on last year, one problem to another.

The car is almost ready for its first outing this year, lots of upgrades, wont have any more power but should put it down better.
We have also swapped to EDC16 ECU Today due to the fact EDC15 is a pig to work perfectly with the 16v BKD engine. Runs 20x better already. Dyno graphs soon!

Smoking is bad for you
