I just purchased a 2012 Sportwagen that ate the back of a pickup truck & lots of engine damage was done... Motor mounts - cracked turbo - obliterated my intake/ valve cover etc... Snapped off some glow plugs / fuel lines/ egr lines....
Tons of fun stuff- so i determined the easiest & cheapest way out is to order another used engine. My question is what is the difference between the 2.0L CJAA Vin M & Vin L ?
It looks like the M is used in the GOLF & L is used in everything else? Are all the parts on the engine interchangeable or is there any difference does anyone know?

Thanks!

No difference that I'm aware of. I would have guessed one was manual trans., and the other dsg.

There are just too many to list....
Volkswagen does not have a VIN digit that relates to the engine like some other makes do, so forget about any of that.

Any CJAA engine will work fine.
