I am new to the diesels and bought a 01 Jetta GLS TDI a week and a half ago. I found quite a few issues and using this forum have managed to solve most. The two I can't seem to figure out are the digital portion of the dash is dead and I have only high beams, no tails, side markers low beams or drls. My brake lights do work as do turn signals and hazards. Been through fuses and bulbs.

Do the daytime running lights go on?
Did you check the bulbs are good?

Did you check for power at fuses 20 and 21 with the ignition and lights on?
Both low beams.
If none trace backwards to the high beam switch in the column.
Last, the headlight switch comes out by turning the switch on, pushing it in, and turning it a bit more.
Pin 4, (yellow / red on my 03) feeds both low beams.

Fuse 22 and 23 are for the parking lights, R & L.

Don't just look at the fuses, check for power.

I have been, I have power at fuse box, good fuses with continuity. Bulbs check good, no power at socket. I am currently away from car for a bit but was trying to see if maybe there was something I did not look at prior to tearing down and chasing wires. As for the center display in dash is there a known wiring issue or online fuse, or just replace and sync up a new one.

And yes no DRLs
You will have to trace the wires backwards then.
The high beam switch has been known to have bad contacts.
Check for power at the yellow / green wire at the lower column plug.
Also at the headlight switch same yellow / green wire on pin 7.
