I am sitting here with 194,300 miles on my car. And, I was wondering how many other folks have high mileage cars. I have seen at least 2 others with more miles but I believe there are others. So lets see.

I forgot to add this part. I bought mine in Sept 99

My '02 Golf GL TDi 5-speed just rolled over 100,000 miles 22 miles west of Sayre OK on I-40 over the weekend holiday. (Then developed a flat tire (damn Cooper tires!) somewhere in the middle of nowhere, aka panhandle of Texas...)

And current the odo. reading, as near as I can remember, indicates the car has almost 102,000 miles on it.

Car bought new 3/23/02 so it will be 3 years old come late March this year.

Sincerely,

Rock Crusher (Oo.)

Just passed 262,000 this week. Hope to reach 300,000 by TDI Fest 2005.
421,000klm ! Steam, that's nice work. I assume you're running a 1.9 ? Any dramas to report to those of us using you as a mark to chase with our new PD's?

No problems to speak of (that I can blame on the car, that is).

117K miles on my 2000 NB bought used in Mar 2003 with 65K miles. Runs like new. Love this car. Few minor things - no skid plate or even engine cover plastic right now...

At about 250,000 I finally had the intake cleaned..... power (and faith) restored! Oh, and front exhaust pipe replaced due to cracked flex hose. And all the interior bits that break for everyone, ie glovebox, seat heater, rear seat back latch, center console latch. All in all, just a normal VW!

Hi Jeff (K5ING), yes I'm still using the plain jane Mobil 1 oil..........

19,860 miles on my '04 Jetta. Had her since June 1st of '04. Looking to get at least 10 years and 400,000 miles out of it. My first diesel, and outside of the payment, no regrets. I should have learned about the TDI's years ago.

Hi Dave...glad to hear you're still chugging right along. Might be up your way the end of March or early April. I'll get lunch this time.

We were pretty surprised when we cleaned my intake at OldNavy's GTG last fall. The EGR was pretty clogged up, but the intake itself only had about 1/3rd inch of gunk on it. It really didn't even need cleaning, but did so anyway since it was off. Had the EGR mod done, but not until around 180K miles or so.

Guess it was the Delvac 1, eh Dave?

I didn't see it, but the mechanic said it was almost clogged shut.
LOL, not surprising I guess. It must have felt fantastic after you picked it up !

99.5 Jetta, 415,000km (257K miles) on her, no problems. Original turbo, clutch, front end; Upsoluted, bigger injector nozzles.

I thought I had an injector pump problem last fall, but it turned out to be a false alarm. The timing belt inspection cover had warped due to the steam from a leaking water pump. This in turn caused the cover to rub against the injector pump pulley, making me think the pump's shaft was moving outwards because of a worn out pump! I found some in/out play on the the shaft, but this turns out to be normal.

I just did a timing belt change last week, and decided to clean the intake manifold for the first time. It actually wasn't too bad at all - I guess flooring it and cruising at 75-100 m.p.h. every day helps to keep it clean!

It was nice to have power above 2300rpm! Before cleaning, it felt about the same as a bad MAF.

Cheap shot buddy! Actually, by the time I discovered Fred's TDI site, I had owned the car for 4 years. I figured the damage was already done......so I decided to be the test car for Mobil 1. My oil consumption is about 3/4 qt between 10,000 mile changes.
