Could anybody tell me the signs of a clutch master/slave cylinder being blown??

I recently had to replace my brake master and am now having some clutch problems. Instead of trying to explain what is wrong and risk leaving out info I thought I would just ask an open ended question.

Thank again everyone, I do think this is the prob but am not sure.

well, I originally posted this on the A3 board, but I left out info and it really isnt a question of 'how' but 'why'.

Here are the symptoms:
1. If i press down on the clutch it just stays down there, unless it pops back up
2. I will press the clutch pedal and the gears no shift (like trying to shift without useing clutch)
3. If I am in neutral and stopped (like at a light) and I push down the clutch pedal and shift but keep it depressed, it will start to drift forward as if Im slowly letting off the clutch. If I also have the brake pedal down I will stall out.

I think It is 1 (or 3) of three things:
1. Cylinders are bad (one or the other, I would replace both)
2. Air in the clutch hydrolic system (I will bleed and see if it helps)
3. I thought of this today, maybe the clip attaching the master to the pedal is defective??

Did I miss anything? I really dont want to replce them, its $150 I dont have

by the way thanks
