Just recently purchased a 2011 Jetta TDI with 44k miles. Love the car! The salesman (pre-owned dept at a VW dealer) assured me the car is up to date on all service, including new DSG oil. I very specifically asked about this, and he didn't quite seem to know what I was talking about. There are no service records available-though he says he talked to the mechanic and it was done. I know I should have insisted on service records for a used car, but it was a good price and the car seems to be pristine.
Am I being paranoid-I get the feeling there is a good chance it was never done. If they got it at an auction with 44k miles, would they even bother with that? Is there a way to tell if the DSG oil is fresh? I don't want to have any problems down the line...
