WinPower Headlights - Bulb out error

If everything is working, the issue is likely the fact that the stock lights use all halogen bulbs and the winpower lights use LEDs for some thing. LEDs have next to no electrical resistance, which is what the computer measures to determine if a bulb is out. If the resistance was 0.00 for example, the computer might think that there is an electrical short. If resistance was 0L, the computer would think there was an open circuit (bulb out). The stock city marker bulbs are 3.8W at 14V meaning they will have about 51 ohms of resistance. LEDs will have next to no resistance. So that is the first place you should be looking.

To fix an issue of resistance you'd have to install a resistor. You can find all sorts of resistors on ebay. You generally just have to use once of those clamp electrical connectors and just wire it between the + and - wires for the LEDs.

Chuck,

Exactly what error is popping up?

Does it say DRL out, Left headlight, Right Turn Signal...

If it has to do with the DRL, then the Freak is correct that the Winnower headlights use LED's which have less resistance than a standard bulb.

However, the headlights should have a resistor on the bottom of the headlight.

We have seen many instances where some rewiring is necessary to get everything working 100%
