Good Morning,

I am approaching my timing belt job milestone and came across a kit that VW sells under part # 03L198119. The guy cmpleted buyback and has no need for the kit anymore. The kit consists of the tensioner, large roller and two small rollers. It also comes with two bolts and nuts, probably for rollers, and a stud with large and small diameter threads on both sides. The Parts numbers of the rollers match to those listed in timing job DIY guide on this site. However, the tensioner is has part number 03L109243a on it, whereas DIY guide calls for 03L109243e. My question is whether or not this tensioner can be used on my engine. Appearance wise, they look identical. Thanks a bunch for the input!

There are just too many to list....
A suffix is not listed, E is. I suspect A got superceded to E.

ETKA does have a note, however, in the content list of the repair kit that E can be replaced with A alternatively, so they must be interchangeable.
