I recently blew a lower IC hose, when I removed the hose there was quite a bit of green gunk inside the hose and cooler. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas on what it might be? No particular smell, but had an oily feel.

Oil from CCV vapors traveling through the system. The emulsion of oil and water vapor turns greenish like phlegm/snot. As long as there isn't a major accumulation of it, I wouldn't worry about it beyond wiping out what you can and putting it back together.

Thank you, phlegm is a nice descriptive word! :)

How many miles?

I know this is a common issue with ice build up on the CJAA's and it's recommended to clean it out every oil change.

I've yet to do it on the Passat.
