Buyback with trash in the car?

I was cleaning out my TDI preparatory to buyback, making sure I didn't leave anything valuable behind, and sort of mindlessly cleaning out trash, too. Then it struck me -- what if I left all the trash there? What if I put the CRT TV that I want to dispose of in the back. What if I filled the car to my eyeballs with computer parts that I would otherwise have to pay to dispose of?

Has anyone tried anything like this?

Edit: wow, lots of "don't be an *******", "the person who will have to clean it out isn't the person who committed the fraud" and the like.
I made this proposal mostly in jest, and haven't bothered to pick up this little TV and put it in the car. But seriously, at the time, I assumed the car would be crushed, and cars are already full of toxic metals, so what difference would it make? Why would anyone bother to clean it out?

Now as it happens, I just got the notice that my car is eligible for a "fix", so yeah, maybe they would clean it out, fix it, and resell it. In that case, I agree, dumping crap on whoever has to clean it out would be nasty.

Man, some people think really weird thoughts........the buyback is now a dumpster for your trash. There is an inspector to examine the car when you turn it in and if that was me I would tell you to dispose of your junk in a proper manner. Now get out of here and come back when you have. The lack of integrity is overwhelming to me. To each his own I guess. I'm glad you're not my neighbor as you might just dump your junk in my front yard so you don't have to pay anything to dispose of it properly. Enginuity the American way.

Yeah, one guy filled his trunk with used kitty litter. True class.

I left one of the original tires, not mounted on a wheel, in the trunk. It still had about half its tread remaining. I figured I had no use for it, but maybe they did.

Do we have to go through every possible permutation of "will $CIRCUMSTANCE affect my buyback"?

They usually don't inspect under the car with mirrors I bet you can hide some great "e-waste" in there to save a few bucks of properly disposing of them.

They will take it but you will make buyback person's and dealer employee's annoyed and left to deal with it. They are just people trying to pay their bills - dealing with your **** is not part of their job.

Don't be an *******. If you do this, I hope karma kicks you in the balls very hard

Whenever I serve revenge, I serve it on the people directly responsible.

In this case, that would be the senior management at VW in Germany who gave their engineers an ultimatum to meet an impossible standard with the time and resources provided to them.

If you know where those people live, feel free to go take a dump on their lawns, if you can get through the gate guard, the ivy, and the iron fences they live behind.

The dealer personnel in the US don't deserve to have to deal with your pettiness. They are fellow victims.

One reason I always do lunch interviews is because you can really tell a lot about a person's character by how they treat low-level employees like wait staff.

Nobody likes an a$$hole.

I am totally TEED off that this happened to our TDI's because of management stupidity, BUT I got a hell of a deal to buy my 09 JSW back. My friends can't believe I got 20K to buy back a 8 yr old car+ Bosche payment and the VW good will payment.

Why would you be pissed off at the local guys? Makes no sense

I'm still trying to figure out what anyone would want revenge *for* . . . Your car was great when you bought it, and that has not changed, despite all the political poo flinging. And I still can't find anyone who can prove that they were actually damaged by VW, versus potential/actual bad choices on their own part . . .

Yes, you can do this. Someone had done it with a Jetta right before I did my buyback. The most it is likely to do is result in a borderline car getting crushed instead of repaired, since condition is part of what Volkswagen is using to make that decision. If your vehicle is already damaged or has very high miles it won't change that at all.

It does make you a petty jerk, though.

Also for the record, this is how the process works,

you meet with a 3rd party buy back specialist - someone who got hired part time to do this - probably not highly paid, but they took the job because they need at least something.

then the service department or dealer porter takes the car and parks it where they have space.

these people have nothing to do with how mad you are at VW. Furthermore, they could be your friends' friends or family just doing their damn job.

This is funny. I like it. Normally I would be against such BS but after the crap vw pulled and after they paid me less than they were supposed to, sure, go for it. Go ahead and $h!t in in too for all I care.

You could have easily got away with it at the place where I turned mine in.

I wonder what kind of people support the $hit in the car as I have been harmed by this are. As I said earlier I really don't think I want you as my neighbor. Self-centered vindictive butt licks. Now I have really said my piece and you guys can pat each other on the back and give each other a high five.

The risible part of the OP, like the spate of "strip it" threads that occurred a while back, is the premise that VW has done something awful to us, the owners. No. VW broke the law, and there was a legal settlement to the case. That's how the legal system works. In that settlement we got three alternatives as to what we could decide to do with our cars, and the "keep it" option made it completely fair: we could just drive on, if that was our choice, as if nothing had happened. But the fact that we can turn our vehicle in for an amount of money significantly above its market value incorporates a legally determined amount of compensation. Therefore, anyone who thinks that they're somehow entitled to take it out on VW personally is just wrong. Take a dump in the car? Really? These people are immature, probably cases of arrested development who need to seek counseling.

These are really great cars. To even think of putting trash in the car is absurd. OK, don't clean out the big mac wrapper, that's OK.
We were totally prepared to not take the buyback if there was no fix. You can't buy a car like this anywhere in the US that I'm aware of. These cars really deserve your respect. To get similar mpg you typically have to drive a hybrid. And they drive like you are driving a microwave.
