Turning in my 2009 JSW tomorrow. Things I'll miss and things I won't.
Miss
The mileage, low 40's
The torque
The Transmission. I'm a DSG fan. Used sport mode frequently for engine braking
The handling/suspension
The brakes, both feel and long life. Pad swap only at 100K miles
The wipers slow down when stopped and rear comes on in reverse is brilliant.
Cruise control. The stalk mounted controls are easy to operate. Used cruise a lot.
The stock radio was excellent
The seats and interior are both holding up well. The interior is eight years old and is still not dated.
Open and close windows and sunroof with door key.
All windows automatic open and close
110 volt outlet came in handy.
The heated seats and the electric cabin heater.
Won't miss
The transmission. The lag off the line when you needed it was god awful.
Maintenance costs of DSG and convoluted oil change process.
The sunroof. Leaks and rattles, never again VW.
The radio antenna. Really VW? ***
The check engine light was a regular visitor
The wheels!!! Made of bendomium. They would bend at the mere sight of a pothole.
The lack of steering wheel heater. That thing would suck your soul in the cold.
The rear door safety switch. Almost always two trips to open the hatch.
The TPMS sensors
And whatever else I'm forgetting. It was my first VW and probably not my last. May revisit them when they have a viable EV.
