VW says not to use more than 5% Biodiesel even if it's a good quality.

What do you think they would say to using used motor oil that has who-knows-what running through it?

But if you are adventurous, give it a try and let us know how much you spend on repairs.

Second that! Bad idea. Use the best fuel you can find.

I keep getting reminded as to why I purchased my car new.

OP: Their are much better ways to use used motor oil than to run it through a five thousand dollar engine.

I wouldn't imagine using pristine engine oil as fuel was a bright idea, let alone the sump scrapings.

My take is to consider bigwheel a troll until he proves himself otherwise.

Has anyone tried doing the 3:1 used motor oil to diesel in their PD motor?
This has been gone over a few times already.
It use to be common practice in the trucking industry to dispose of their used engine oil by adding it to the fuel. This was even addressed in the operators manual with something like:"use no more than 5% used motor oil to the fuel".
You won't see anyone suggesting adding used motor oil to todays engines. It probably wasn't a great idea back then (mechanical injector pumps, loose engine tolerances, etc.) and is even worse today.
Will you car run with 5% used motor oil in the fuel? Yep! I've done it in the past but think it was a dumb experiment.
Clean, cool, well lubricated fuel is the way to a happy fuel pump. JMO!
