TDI Clocking

When doing a swap into a transverse platform is it necessary to clock the engine or can it be straight up and down?

I think the biggest issue would be the oil pick-up tube. You need to be sure that it's sitting at the lowest point in the pan. Modify the pan and pick-up tube so that as the engine is square, the bottom of the pan is square and the pick-up is at the bottom of the pan.

Straight up and down is fine. Been done many, many times.

I have mine straight up and down. No problems. The bottom of the oil pan was actually square to head so it is flat when straight up.
