So last Friday I was slowing down for a stop light when I felt and heard a loud KLUNK from the drivetrain. When the light turned green and I tried to go, the dash lit up with transmission warnings and it was clearly stuck in a gear.
Luckily, it broke right across the road from a trusted repair shop.
They took it an and diagnosed it as a transmission solenoid gone bad.
Of course VW designed it so the solenoid cant be independently replaced, the entire valve body needs replaced.
So it sits while they wait for the parts......
