Should I get antenna base from VW ($60) or Ebay ($9)?

The antenna base for my '03 TDI is available as an offishul VW part #1J0035501F for $57 or from Ebay for less than $10. Does anyone have any comments (or better, experience) as to whether there's a difference in quality/compatibility? Just as all dogs go to heaven, it must be admitted that most parts come from China...but don't necessarily have the quality of the offishul part. Of course, if swapping the base weren't such ball buster in a Jetta, I'd just grab the cheap one and see what happens ....

Things that are easy to change and don't serve a major safety/mechanical purpose, you can skimp on if you want to. Things that are difficult to change/get to or serve a major safety or mechanical purpose, OEM. That is my rule.
