Well I'm up in the air as to what to do, I have a golf original 16v with all the 16v stuff including all trim and in really nice shape, I have a ahu dying to go into it, should I leave it 16v or Just drop the ahu into it, it came with 2 complete interiors 1 leather,1 cloth and honestly a ton of new parts, still in boxes, new Sachs clutch, 2 16v motors, trans, i'm just up in the air

b4v....died, engine swapped into mk1 caddy
16v are cool and all but not as cool as an ahu. If you build it 5% of what yoh did to your truck it'll be amazing.

Well thanks for the kind words, it's by far anything like my truck, but all the 16v emblems are in really nice shape, the paint is not so nice nor the body work really needs redone, not sure if I can wet sand and buff it, I believe it is a original 16v car, i'm checking on it, I have time as I'm collecting parts for my corrado, I have I think 2 many projects, right now I'm working on getting my semi trailer over to my shop putting it on blocks and it will be my parts trailer I need it real bad to free up space in my shop

I did that for you SC, you should have been there when I got on the interstate and saw the rear snowflake rolling down the road beside me

well SC i picked up the car, we lwft and drove about 2 miles and got on the interstate, dummy me when i hooked up the car i did not check the rear wheels to make sure they were ok, well the wheel bearing exploded and the tire and hub assembly came off and rolled right down the interstate, a semi had to slow very fast not to hit it, my son and i looked at each other and said i think we have a problem..haha...well we pulled over and sure enough the axle stub was history, sunday morning 8am, what are we gonna do now, well son said lets see if a pull apart is close, so got on the internet and sure enough 1.5 miles away was a pull apart, we unhooked the tow dolly drove to pull apart, they had just opened, they had a 89 mk2 there, we found it and it had 1 axle stub still on the car, puled it off went back to the car put her on and at 930 am we were back on the road, now go figure how that could ever happen, we had an angel looking out for us for sure

For sure! What are the odds. I usually have the opposite luck when i have break downs. Lucky too, the semi or any other did not hit it. The adrenaline is pumping whenever i pick up a car, no matter what shape it is in. Think we all have that waahooo feeling when acquiring a new project or donor car!

you know the answer. sell the gas parts on vortex. i would never bother with an older gas 16v build... they suck :p

Steve at the TDIGUY guy had a new 16V for sale. Believe it is an ASV not a BKD. DFW Texas. Pretty sure he still has it, but make have plans for it, not sure. Frans is great for shipping stuff from Europe, as is RyanP. I agree with all the others, a gasser 16V has been done so much it isn't even interesting. Vortexers are busy hobbling MKI caddies with them left and right.

I've got a CBE here with 171K and no popped turbo. Got the 02Q to go with it too.
Trying to think of something to do with it.
