I know a lot of you guys like me work on your own cars. Jack stands are an absolute necessity. Every time I grab my floor jack and wheel it to a vehicle I grab a jack stand with the other hand.

Harbor Freight is a good resource for a tool you’ll only use once or twice in your life. I don’t habitually shop there but people will buy me tools as a thank you for helping them with a car or as a Christmas present. So I have accumulated a few Harbor Freight items.

Check out this article it gives all the applicable information.

I think it was 2 different 3 ton ones and 1-6 ton stand. I've been using some old Chinese ones and a set of 3 ton Harbor Freight ones, not the recalled ones. I looked at those aluminum 3 tons they have, can't believe how light they are. Don't think I'll stop using them because of recall....

Mine are quite a bit older than these, so maybe tooling wasn't so bad then. I didn't get them from HF anyway. Well, not the first set for sure. Not sure about the second pair. But that doesn't say anything about the actual manufacturer, since I know both pairs came from China.

Ugh. It's like inflation, where bad money drives out good. Everybody be careful out there!

Cheers,

PH
