Would improperly replacing the brake light switch have any effect on the brake booster or brake function?

Would appreciate any reply? Desperate for any explanation on why my brakes went south after they replaced my brake light switch. Thanks.

as in why the heck are they replacing my brake booster? Would improperly reinstalling the plunger affect the booster? $500 to replace the booster now.

No, replacing the brake light switch should not affect the brake booster. What do you mean by your "brakes went south"? Can you elaborate on the sequence of events that has led to this consequence?
