Is a winter front worth it?

-32c cold start for me today. sat for a week unplugged, had about 10" of snow on it. was a frozen ice block.



let it idle for about a minute and then drove it nicely.... had heat within about 2 miles.

did 60 miles of highway driving with the heater on full blast the entire time and the heat needle stayed at 12 o clock the entire drive. no winter front.


its amazing what a $40 thermostat will do.

The only way this is possible starting with a cold engine is if you drove up a %10 grade for those 2 miles.
