normal oil consumption

Just checked the oil at 4K miles. No, not the first time I have done so. Added about a quarter of a liter. Is this normal? I am assuming yes, as my 2.5 Jetta needed some too, as did my Passat. What is the thought on what is normal here?

I used nearly a quart during the first 5000 mi. I'm now at just under 9700 mi. and it has not gone down a measurable amount since the 5K oil change. I think others have had similar experiences....

through 25k miles, I'm averaging about 1/2 liter per 5k miles.

I figured some oil use during break in...thanks!

i didnt use any? i am at 25k miles right now...
