why do sequential when I can do straight compounds? Whole reason I went with compounds is to get the breathing there without needing to buy a camshaft.
What PR is your LPT pushing ?
And how many milles did your HPT last ?
LP is making 25 PSI, HP bumps that up to 45
iirc the interstage WG is sprung for around a PR of 2? Just the thrust load with the increased airmass is too much.
Got maybe 10k out of the old bearings in the turbo, haven't checked on the new set yet, but they've got about another 10k on them. Got a VF27 on the shelf, just gotta get it jammed on there, after the insight swap is running... Ugh, projects.

It would be best to go with a more modern turbo and at the minimum, I'd go with either a GTB1756VK or GTB2260VK depending on what mods you have done to your TDI.

IMO, I'd go with the most current turbo you can buy for the best performance you can get out of a turbo and that would mean going with either a GTD1752VRK/GTD1756VRK or the larger GTD2060VZK.
Here are a few GTD1752VRK/GTD1756VRK options:
https://www.mecevo.com/parts/garrett_turbo_gtd1756vrk_with_77_billet_wheel.html
https://gottuned.com/product/gtd175...m-converted-and-welded-onto-stock-1-9-2-0tdi/
https://gottuned.com/product/gtd175...m-converted-and-welded-onto-stock-1-9-2-0tdi/

If you wanna upgrade to a GTD2060VZ, it will require quite a bit of customization to make it work on a 1.9L TDI.

I will soon use a gtd1756vrk on my BKD because I have stock injectors so I don't need bigger turbo, but I think using gtd1756vrk with sotck manifold is not good, actualy I use gtb1756vk mfs, before I was using it with stock manifold and now with 4 in 1 tubular manifold and there is a big difference at low rpm, now no surge and spool realy quikly.

I realy think that my old gtb1756vk with tubular manifold is better than gtd1756vrk with stock manifold. stock manifold has realy bad flow

Still slightly bigger than the BMW's 36mm, so that's good. Can't yet tell from pictures online whether it is integrated with the exhaust manifold or separate.

same comp iducer this 210hp verson? plenty power for 37mm...
Yes same wheel size for 210 version, only difference is the rpm sensor.
This unit does 3200 mbar on a stock 2143cc engine, quite amazing for a turbo of this size.
I will test this turbo with a GTD2056vzk comp wheel soon. Let's see if we can reach 3400 mbar...

Does anyone know where I can get the exhaust flange for the turbo downpipe, or what its dimensions are? Making a custom exhaust for a conversion project. Using CJAA engine with CR140 turbo. Thanks

I have not seen the specs for a KKK turbo from a 1983 Mercedes 300d. It is wastegate and was thinking of trying to use it on my 02 golf ALH. It is much bigger than the stock vnt15... Is there any advantages/disadvantages to using a wg turbo on my ALH.

Hi guys, I just wonder, why nobody talks about bmw e39 525d 2052v turbo, to me it seems to fit much more easily on transverse tdi's than bigger brother from vag v6 2.5 tdi.
I want to put the gt2052v e39 m57 turbo in my ALH but can't find any info about it. Maybe you guys can help me with some info. Thanks and have a nice day!!!

Hi guys, anyone have specs for turbocharger fitted on range rover 2.7 tdi engines ? It's a KKK vnt turbo with electronic actuator, seems to have a similar manifold flange as bmw or transporter t4...I want to use it on a t4 van just not sure its worth it over a gtb turbo... Size wise its slightly larger than a bv43 but i never judge potency of a turbo by size alone...

Looks like a BV50, so comparable to a GTx20 frame size class. Based on the original engines' power outputs, I consider them highly unremarkable and if performance is what you're after, look for a turbo whose original application is producing north of 260 HP not just 190 in the Land Rover.

Thanks ! It was just an idea to maybe use it on the t4 transporter i have...at 1st glance it looks like it would bolt on the stock exhaust manifold...I need to build a tubular manifold in order to use a gtb2260vk on the van, not enough room unless i bring the turbo over the engine...

Few pics of this one

Gtc1446vz from 2.0d Volvo V60 (Volvo 31312712 Garrett 790367)

Specs :

Stock vacuum operated
CW : 34,1mm inducer / 46mm exducer
The housing has a 3" inlet
Kind of anti surge groove (MWE ?)
No billet wheel but gtd1446vz has billet wheel (Volvo 31380131 Garrett 836265)

TW : 34,5mm exducer / 39mm inducer
A/R 0.74

I'll try this one in a compound setup and a friend of mine is planning to use one as a single into his 1.4 tdi

Yep it's quite the same unit in terms of design and technology. Only the CW is a bit different, but it should work just as great as yours

Overall dimensions are 26cm/10" height , 20cm/8" length , 20cm/8" width

Vband size is 77mm OD and 50mm ID

I guess I'd need to machine a custom Vband exhaust flange, right ? Did you use the Volvo oem Vband clamp and gasket ?
