Last week I picked up a 2014 Golf tdi and would love to add the euro tail lights. I’m wondering if they would plug and play, or if they would need coding to be done in order to work.

Below is a link to what I think is the original thread about replacing the taillights. The thread includes different coding options depending on your car.

LED tail Install with or without Rear Fog

For my car, 2010 Golf TDI with Xenon headlights, the coding change was to “1F” at Byte 18 in Central Electronics.

^^Wow, those look like cool lights! I especially like the LED reverse is already there and the sequential turn signals are neat. I tried some replacement LED bulbs in my OEM LED taillights. They were awesome for brightness, but I had intermittent bulb out warnings. I guess the resistors or whatever they use must have been a bit flaky. I gave up on the LED reverse lights in my OEM lights and just put the original reverse bulbs back in place. But I like that my LED taillights are OEM. They're quality units.
