Anyone in/around Toronto with a Malone stage II tune? Also if you wouldn't mind dropping me on a stretch of road somewhere.

I want to see what "moderate to heavy smoke" is, and it is surprisingly hard to find a picture of.

Edit: Mark had a ~10 min response time to an email. Damn.

Edit 2: Never mind. Looks like without upgrading the turbo I shouldn't get higher then a stage 1.5 tune (due to boost creep). That means a clutch as well, and then a boost gauge, ugh next summer.

on the PD's - good handful of guys running stock clutch and pushing at or almost 200hp. Clutch only really slipped when ignorant - low RPMs full throttle in 5th.

tune on that engine makes a nice bit of difference! well worth it! if you plan on getting wild with your ride a vag-com and flashzilla loader may be worthwhile also. Email tuning and the ability to log your car when you feel like it.

Really? hhmmmm I like that, 200hp eh? I'll take that challenge.

I am thinking Vag-Com/Flashzilla is going to be the first purchase for me. Why can't fun stuff for cars be cheap?

You can got for a ride in mine after I get my retune, I had to get the Glow plug recall done. Should be getting it all tuned by next weekend. It ran 130hp 235ft/lbs at the wheels November 2009 at the GTG.

200hp isnt cheap at all:

turbo - ~$2500
exhaust - ~$1000
intercooler - ~$1000
tuning - ~$500
injectors - ~$500
labor - ~15 - 20hrs

All these are approximates and probably more on the cheap side of things.

Don't forget tools, all the things I will break while learning, and tickets. :D

Edit:200hp is the goal, im hoping this year i can get it up to around ~150hp, see if I can get a new turbo before next winter, intercooler by the next spring (Winter acts as an ultralight intercooler right?).

Malone? Just DO IT!

Call Brandon at DCB and do it! You will be pleased with the
difference in the performance... as for smoke I guess it will
depend on the car.

I have stock injectors, Malone II and a clutch upgrade... I
haven't seen any smoke out my back window when I step on it,
so far...

Just sign me REALLY PLEASED with my Malone tune from Brandon.

So I emailed Mark (he has like 10min response time, damn fast) and he mentioned there is a pretty solid chance of boost creep with a stage II, on a PD. I'm still getting use to which years were what motors, Is your jetta a PD? and if so do you notice any boost creep?
