Hey , not sure the best place to post this. So my buddy just bought a 2000 Audi A6 Wagon with a gas motor, sorry not sure on engine size. I'd like to help him troubleshoot and fix it. His issue is heater doesn't heat up very well. Sorry i don't really know exact details. I mean first we'll check tstat and coolant levels etc but any input if anyone is familiar with these is appreciated. Sorry i know its a vague post! I told him check coolant level, tstat, cts, and questioned him on driving habits heater settings etc, then realized im thinking of my ALH tdi process.. Anyway thx in advance!

Heater core is likely plugged. Quite common on this vintage longitudinal audi and VW. Low position of the heater core and lazy flow cause sediment to collect in the core. Alternately flushing with garden hose and low pressure compressed air will often restore the flow. Be careful with the air, use a regulator at 30psi or so or you may burst the core.
Thank you QuickTD!
