My Silver 2011 had 88750 miles on it and I thought I would see how much I could get on a trade. I figured I would try before hitting 90K. They offered me what I owed on it and a Silver 2015 Jetta TDI SE with Connectivity for close to invoice. I went for it. My '11 was a manual, so I hope I won't regret getting a DSG. MY wife's 2012 TDI has DSG and it seems much louder on the highway than my '11 was. It doesn't get as good mileage either. The 2015 seemed a bit quieter than hers when I took it on a brief test drive. Anyone know if they geared the 2015 a little differently? I think the revs were a couple hundred less at 80mph than the 2012.

My 12 is pretty quiet on the highway especially after swapping to Michelin Premiers. I also get pretty standard TDI mileage.

How much did they give you for your TDI?

How much did they give you for your TDI? What did they charge you for the 15?

Do you mean the transmission was louder in the 2012 or the car? If it's the car you're referencing I'm sure it has to do with the tires being different makes. I've seen multiple brands of tires on 2014 TDi's. Mine came with the Continentals & they are really quiet.

The DSG final gear is not a tall as the manual, so it revs a bit higher vs same speed in a manual car. I'll regularly turn 2400+ rpm on hwy cruising

I'm very happy with my new 2015 Jetta so far

Thanks for those that responded.
I got $10K for my trade and paid $24230 for the car(2015 TDI Se w/connectivity). It has mud flaps, monster mats, and the trunk cargo mat.
The first night I averaged 55 miles per gallon on my way home from work (50 miles mostly highway).
My wife's 2012 is definitely louder(engine noise) on the highway.
