Supposedly there is a software update to correct the speedo, but I haven't personally talked to anyone who has received it.

I would check it over about 3 miles. In 3 miles at 60 mph you should have traveled 180 seconds. Take 3600 and divide that by your seconds per mile to give you your mph.
3600/60 seconds=60mph
3600/60 seconds=60mph

Why not use your GPS and confirm the odometer? Like you did for the Speedometer?
