Sunroof 2006 jetta

Sunroof opens randomly while driving, has anyone experienced this ,if so what direction to take. Switch,relay, or something else?

I've had it happen on mine too. Not sure what the fix is or what exactly would be causing the problem. Sometimes it will just open upwards to vent, never open up or slide back. I've also had it to where it will open to vent, then close and repeat until i move the switch and then move it back to the closed position. Happens at random times.

The switch that controls the sunroof is at fault. Next time it opens on its own, apply some pressure on it, without turning it. The sunroof should close back.

Yea mine just opens to vent hasn't slid open, Thanx for the tip this site has been priceless in helping me with repairs. I do about a 120mile a day trip for work. This is my second Jetta they get a amazing fuel economy!!

Try to clean the connection at the switch using DeOxit.
