I have 2011 audi q7 tdi, my globe light started flashing few days ago. No loss in power. When I turn off the car and restart it it goes away. It comes on intermediately.
It has pending CEL fuel pressure low at rail, but CEL isn't on. Did an oil change 2000 miles ago. Car has about 94500 on it. Diesel filter was changed at 84,000 miles.

Sorry, don't mean to ignore your question but I don't have any idea what a "globe light" is or how the symptoms you listed relate.

I don't think anyone here is going to be able to help you. My advice is to take it to a dealer or a European car specialist who has the equipment to connect to your car's computer (Ross-Tech) to read the codes and diagnose the problem.

There is no such thing as a "globe light".

The only thing I can think of, is a warning light that looks like a globe ... and the closest thing I can think of, is something like this:

If that is the warning lamp that is on, it means you have a burned-out exterior bulb. (It's not a "globe" ... it's a "light bulb".) Headlamp, taillamp, license plate lamp, turn signal front or rear or side marker, etc.

The other possibility is that it is the "glow plug" warning lamp. If that is the case, your pending low rail pressure code could be at fault ... or maybe not.

I'd be concerned that the HPFP is on the way out. Take the cover off the fuel filter to see if there is metal shrapnel in there.

High Pressure Fuel Pump used in the common rail fuel systems. Metal shavings indicates damage to the pump and likely contamination of the fuel system. Lots of information available that you might want to be aware of.

It hasn't come on in few days. I'm guessing it was a bad diesel. I will be changing the diesel filter soon. How often are you supposed to change the diesel filter??

The 4-cyl change interval for the fuel filter was 32,000 km / 20,000 mi. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the V6, but it's probably similar, and your owner's manual will state what it is.

If it was done 10,000 mi ago, it's not yet due to be replaced again. But if it's KNOWN that you had a tank of bad fuel, by all means change it early.

If the fault code has gone off, I suspect the problem is not the HPFP. If the HPFP is going to grenade, it doesn't just magically get better - it only gets worse, and fast.

I think it was bad diesel, going to change the diesel filter anyways. I knew that diesel station looked shady when handle of the pump had dust all over it :) and that out house in the back and the whites only water fountain. Should've known better ... shame on me. That lady that lived in the shoe was right hehehe.
